Volunteers are the heartbeat of our organization. Give your time, skills, and heart to help orphans and communities in Bukalango, Uganda — locally or internationally.

Volunteer Opportunities

Teaching Support

Assist our teachers at Lidos Junior School in reading, art, music, or basic science classes. Help organize recreational games.

Support our health education initiatives, assist with medical outreach visits, and help train families on hygiene and preventative care.

Water & Well Maintenance

Participate in constructing pump bases, distributing hygiene packs, or training community leaders on borehole care.

Skills Training & Poverty Alleviation

Share vocational, financial literacy, or entrepreneurship skills to support our small business and microfinance programs for local families.

Fundraising, Events & Marketing

Help plan fundraising campaigns, coordinate community events, or create content and manage social media to grow our supporter network.

Help us write school progress updates, format child bio cards, or manage communication with international donor networks.

Volunteer Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years old (16+ for local volunteers with parental consent)
  • Commit to a minimum of 2 weeks for international volunteers, or 3 months for local volunteers
  • Be in good health and able to work in sometimes challenging conditions
  • Have a passion for community service and a willingness to learn
  • Respect local cultures and customs
  • Pass a background check for roles working directly with children

Are there any costs involved in volunteering?

International volunteers are responsible for their travel costs, visa fees, and insurance. We provide accommodation and meals during your stay.

Can I volunteer remotely?

Yes — we have some remote volunteering opportunities, particularly in marketing, fundraising, and administrative support.

Do I need to speak the local language?

While knowing the local language is helpful, it's not required. English is widely spoken, and we provide translators when necessary.
