About Donatella Foundation
A small, passionate group of humanitarians and educators building pathways out of rural poverty in Bukalango, Kakiri, Uganda.
Our Story: Born Out of Necessity
Donatella Foundation was established in Bukalango, a rural community outside Kakiri, Uganda, after realizing that over 60% of regional children faced severe educational barriers due to early-childhood orphanage and rampant local poverty. Most families subsist on less than $1.50 a day, making tuition fees at standard schools impossible.
With the creation of Lidos Junior Schools, we sought to solve this directly. We established a local, nurturing, and high-quality educational environment specifically for orphans and needy children.
Recognizing that hungry children cannot learn, and sick children cannot attend school, we quickly expanded our mission. We launched daily nutrition campaigns, built boreholes to supply clean water to villages, and initiated microfinance drives to empower single mothers on the ground.
Our Vision
We envision a rural Uganda where every child—regardless of their family lineage or economic standing—has full, unrestricted access to safe learning, clean drinking water, complete nutrition, and a healthy family environment to explore their dreams.
Our Mission
To operate as a highly transparent, effective liaison connecting international donors directly with the children of Bukalango, Kakiri. We construct secure boreholes, feed school classrooms, distribute learning supplies, and manage Lidos Junior Schools to systematically dismantle poverty loops.

Lidos Junior Schools: Our Heart
Lidos Junior Schools acts as the primary educational implementation hub of the Donatella Foundation. Registered and operating locally in Bukalango, the schools provide specialized primary learning, standard literacy, numeracy, and arts curriculums.
Sponsorships match children specifically in this school, covering the entire operation cost of salaries, school maintenance, uniforms, and meals.
