Emergency Food Relief Delivered to Vulnerable Families

A severe dry spell in Kakiri region caused widespread crop failures, threatening food security for subsistence-farming families. Many children were attending school on empty stomachs, unable to concentrate.
In response, the Donatella Foundation launched an emergency food outreach in Bukalango. Through the rapid support of our donor network, we distributed 3,000kg of posho (maize flour), 1,500kg of high-protein beans, soap, and cooking oil.
This distribution targeted 150 vulnerable households, prioritizing child-headed families, single mothers, and households caring for orphaned children. It has successfully bridged the gap until the next harvest, ensuring our children remain healthy, strong, and in school.
